$500 ADS-B Rebate

Written by Kristian Butler | Feb 4, 2019 5:31:14 PM

The FAA has reinstated the ADS-B Rebate, but the rebates are limited and time is running out as the program ends on October 11, 2019.  Are you eligible to receive it? There are several requirements that need to be met for you to receive your free $500 ADS-B Rebate.

We get question all the time on the Rebate.. "how do I do it?" "Does Sparkchasers handle it?" so I hope this helps you aviators out!

What is classified as an eligible aircraft? U.S.-registered, fixed-wing, single-engine piston aircraft first registered before January 1, 2016.

What equipment is classified as eligible?  ADS-B Out avionics that has received an ADS-B Technical Standard Order authorization and meet ADS-B Out rule requirements (software upgrades of existing equipment are not eligible). Rebates are not available for aircraft already equipped or for which the FAA has paid or committed to upgrade.

The five steps you need to take to become compliant and receive your rebate are:

Decide: Figure out what solutions you would like and purchase it.

Reserve:  With-in 90 days of your install you have to reserve your rebate and receive a rebate reservation code.   Use this link to reserve your rebate now!

Install: Get your transponder installed.

Fly & Validate: Go fly and validate the installation. Within 60 days of installation, aircraft must be flown in "rule airspace" as defined in 14 CFR 91.225 for a minimum of 30 minutes with at least 10 aggregate minutes of maneuvering (AC 20-165B contains flight maneuver recommendations).

Claim: Use your rebate reservation code and claim your rebate.

Now hopefully those $500 rebates start piling up at the FAA Office because they are limited and there is a deadline! Give Sparkchasers a call if you got any questions!
